Small talk
Catherine: Hi Jane. How are you?
Jane: Great thanks, and you?
Catherine: Well, I don’t know what to say…Can you believe all of this rain we’ve been having?
Jane: I know what you mean. It sure would be nice to be in Hawaii right about now.
Catherine: I had some plans for the weekend, outdoor plans … but … we’ll see…
Jane: Me too. We are supposed to go to some wedding! But as every woman I have a backup plan.
Welcome
Catherine: I think we'll begin now. First I'd like to welcome you all and thank everyone for coming, especially at such short notice. I know you are all very busy especially these days when our campaign is in progress and every second is important.
Introductions
Catherine: I'd like to take a moment to introduce our new colleague. Sandra would you like to stand up and introduce yourself?
Sandra: Hi everyone. I'm Sandra Butler. I'll be acting as Catherine's assistant while Mary is away on maternity leave.
Objectives
Catherine: As you can all see here on the agenda we will be mainly talking about the upcoming tourist season. First we'll discuss the groups that will be coming in from England. After that we'll discuss the North American Tours. If time allows we will also discuss the Middle East tours which are booked for early October. Next, I'm going to request some feedback from all of you concerning last year's tours and where you think we can improve. And finally, we'll be voting on where and when to have this year's staff picnic.
Closing a Meeting
Catherine: I guess that will be all for today. If anyone has any questions about anything we discussed today, feel free to send me an e-mail. I have just been informed of some problems that need my immediate attention. Have a nice weekend. See you all on Monday.
